Why Volunteer with FIRST?

FIRST is all about inspiring young people to discover the excitement of STEM! Teams of students build, program, and compete with industrial-size robots for awards—think robot wars meets sporting event, with an emphasis on teamwork, innovation, and problem-solving.

Check out this highlight from one of our previous events to see the action for yourself:
Watch the excitement!

We’re looking for volunteers to help make this event a success, and I’d love for you to be part of the experience! Whether you're interested in a hands-on technical role like Robot Inspection or something more non-technical like overseeing the Quiet Room, there’s an opportunity for everyone to contribute. Plus, we encourage teams from schools and local companies to volunteer together in roles like Field Reset and Safety Attendants.

Event Details:

  • What: Utah Regional FIRST Robotics Competition
  • When: March 13-15, 2025
  • Where: Maverik Center, West Valley City, UT

Volunteer Perks

Volunteers can commit anywhere from a few hours to multiple days. If you’re able to help out for more than one day, we’ll provide breakfast, lunch, and a FIRST t-shirt as a token of our appreciation. Many technical positions require at least a two-day commitment due to training, but don’t worry—you’ll be hooked, and one day will definitely leave you wanting more!

If you have any questions or need more details, please don’t hesitate to reach out! I’d be thrilled to discuss the many ways you and your colleagues can get involved.

Thank you for your time and consideration. We look forward to having you join us for this exciting event!
